Amish Country, Holmes County in particular, is home to some scenic locations with the lush rolling hills and hidden valleys, which lead to some luxurious homes hidden away on the back roads.

Some also are found along the main routes.

Many properties for sale in the county list for more than $150,000.

The median list price for single family homes in Holmes County is $157,300, based on homes listed in the past 12 months, according to the housing market report from Rocket Mortgage.

Neighboring counties to Holmes, such as Ashland County ($149,900), Tuscarawas County ($139,900), Wayne County ($159,900) and Coshocton County ($117,900) feature a wide disparity in home costs.

In August, 2021, there were 46 homes listed for sale in Holmes County and in September there were 37. The average time on the market was 70 days.
