Temperature: 19°C high; 13°C low Season: spring Travel time from UK: 2 hours 35 minutes Time difference: GMT +1 Nothing brings a spring to the step quite like the sight of Italy's glorious Amalfi coast. A multi-award winning North Lakes holiday letting company has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Keswick-based self-catering cottage company Sally's Cottages has been bought by Travel Chapter, known nationally for its flagship brand holidaycottages.co.uk.

Sally Fielding, who set up Sally's Cottages 18 years ago and watched it grow from a portfolio of a single rental in Eskdale to more than 500 cottages across Cumbria and the Lake District, said: "This year is looking amazing for bookings and I very much hope this will continue going forward, after what has been a very challenging 15 months.

"Going into next year with Travel Chapter at the helm will mean that there will be funds to safeguard all the jobs of the team here.

"There will also be the financial reserves to support the marketing of all the cottages, meaning that Sally's Cottages can continue to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come."
