Where to go on holiday in March 2023 - Condé Nast Traveller

Image
Temperature: 19°C high; 13°C low Season: spring Travel time from UK: 2 hours 35 minutes Time difference: GMT +1 Nothing brings a spring to the step quite like the sight of Italy's glorious Amalfi coast. Particularly in March, when its vertiginous twists are bathed in a daily average eight hours of sun. Cliffs plunge into the Tyrrhenian Sea, topped with grand palazzos and smart hotels. Narrow, Roman lanes are stuffed with limoncello stalls flogging the boozy spoils of Sorrento's famous fruit. Its snoozy air and pastel-coloured houses are pure Italian cinema: you might even swear you've seen a young Sophia Loren looking impossibly saucy by the quay. Do as the Italians do and spend the lazy, romantic days enjoying a long aperitivo . Don't miss fresh fritto misto at Marina Grande, the town's old fishing harbour, or Michelin-starred Il Buco in the cellars of an old monastery, where chef Peppe Aversa serves seasonal ingredients under a stone-hewn, vaulted ceiling. But it's not just any house. It's being built by Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas, the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, the largest nonprofit home-builder in the world, according to its website. And this home is the first that will utilize new interior and exterior plans designed by Williams & Dean Architecture | Interior Design in Little Rock. The idea to update floor plans of houses started when Kelly Fleming became executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas just under two years ago. Her goal, she says, was to "improve everything," which included home design. "Our floor plans are quite functional and very efficient, but we've been using the ...

Picture this: You're relaxing in a comfortable chair on a breezy porch that overlooks a breathtaking view of a vacation destination. Whether you imagine yourself tucked away in the mountains, perched beside a peaceful lake, or settled on a sandy beach, a versatile A-frame home offers a unique way to experience your desired destination. The front and back walls of the structure usually have tall windows that allow natural light to pour inside and offer prime views of the surrounding area. These minimalist yet cozy homes are intended for recreation and relaxation, and they can be built in warm or cold climates. Inside, you'll usually find a sleeping loft and an airy open floor plan. Cottage For Sale In Shere, Surrey, Where The Holiday Was Filmed - HouseBeautiful.com

A delightful Surrey cottage situated in the village where The Holiday was filmed is on the market for £1.15 million. The Grade II listed home, dating from 1742, has been sympathetically restored over the years. Set in the quintessential English village of Shere, fans of the festive film will be sure to recognise the surroundings as the home where Kate Winslet's character Iris lived (the real film cottage doesn't actually exist). It's deeply charming, although don't expect to find Jude Law in the local pub. Traditional and modern décor differ dramatically, but this Georgian property blends the two together quite seamlessly. Step inside and you'll discover a dual aspect sitting room (we're big fans of the wood-burning stove here), a generous dining room for entertaining, and a kitchen/breakfast room with bespoke cabinets, an island, gas-fired AGA, and a vaulted ceiling offering beautiful garden views. There is nothing ordinary about the space. The landing upstai...
